Focus area 05
Community development
Supporting communities to identify their own priorities and act on them together.
Proposed — not yet active
The problem
Lasting change rarely comes from outside. It comes when communities have the information, confidence and small resources to solve problems they have identified themselves.
Who it is for
- Village and neighbourhood communities
- Local youth groups and women's collectives
- Community-led initiatives that need a little support
Proposed approach
- Listening first: community meetings to understand local priorities
- Small, practical projects chosen and led by community members
- Connecting people with existing government schemes and services
- Sharing what works openly so other communities can learn
Eligibility and participation
Community groups will be able to propose ideas once a simple application process is ready. Selection criteria will be published.

How outcomes will be measured
- Projects completed as planned

- Whether the change lasts after six and twelve months
Only verified results will be published, with the method and its limitations. See Impact.
