Focus area 06
Livelihood skills and employment-oriented learning
Practical skills and honest guidance that help young people move towards decent work.
Proposed — not yet active
The problem
Many young people finish school without a clear path to work, and without the practical skills employers ask for. Some fall prey to fake job offers and costly courses that promise more than they deliver.
Who it is for
- Young people aged 16–25
- Women seeking to return to work or start small enterprises
Proposed approach
- Short courses in practical skills: computers, communication, basic accounts, spoken English
- Career guidance that is honest about options, costs and timelines
- Help recognising fraudulent job offers and exploitative schemes
- Links with genuine training institutes and employers, once relationships are confirmed
Eligibility and participation
Course places and criteria will be published for each course. No fees will be charged for foundation-run sessions.
