Draft — requires legal review
Whistleblowing Policy
How people inside the foundation can report wrongdoing safely.
Draft — requires legal review
This policy is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified legal professional and may change. Publishing it does not mean the foundation is compliant with any law. Hindi translations of policies will follow after legal review.
Purpose
This policy enables staff, volunteers and partners to report suspected wrongdoing — such as fraud, misuse of funds, abuse or serious breaches of policy — without fear of retaliation.
How to report
Reports can be made in confidence to a designated person independent of day-to-day management (to be appointed). If the concern involves the founder or leadership, it can be raised with an independent adviser or the relevant authorities.
Protection
- Reports made in good faith will be protected, even if they turn out to be mistaken.
- The reporter's identity will be kept confidential as far as possible.
- Retaliation against a whistleblower is itself a serious breach.
Investigation
Reports will be investigated promptly and fairly, and the outcome recorded.
