How long we keep different kinds of information, and how we delete it.

Principle
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires.
Proposed retention periods (to be confirmed after legal review)
- General enquiries: up to 12 months after the conversation ends
- Volunteer applications not taken forward: up to 6 months
- Volunteer records: for the period of involvement plus up to 3 years
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe
- Financial and donation records: as required by Indian tax and accounting law
- Consent records: for as long as the related media is in use, plus a reasonable period
Deletion
At the end of the retention period, information is securely deleted or anonymised. You can ask us to delete your information earlier, subject to legal obligations.
